Once again the youngsters split the day, winning three and losing four. It wasn’t a great day, but it was far from the worst either. Let’s take a closer look at what is going on down on the farm!
TRIPLE-A
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (36-41) lose to Rochester Red Wings(43-36) 7-5
Bruce Billings started and struggled through six innings, allowing five runs, although only two were earned. He allowed five hits, struck out five, and walked two. John Ryan Murphy went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI. Jose Pirela also homered and drove in a pair. The RailRiders will try and avoid a three-game skid Wednesday at 7:05 when Al Aceves takes the mound against Rochester.
DOUBLE-A
Trenton Thunder (36-42) lose to Bowie Baysox (40-36) 6-3
Dan Camarena got knocked around for eleven hits and four earned runs in four and two-thirds innings, and Trenton could not bounce back. Gary Sanchez hit his ninth home run and Ali Castillo had two RBI. First pitch Wednesday is 6:35 and Eric Wooten will be on the hill trying to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Baysox.

High-A
Tampa Yankees (36-40) defeat Clearwater Thresher (20-54) 4-3
Jaron Long started and had a decent day for the Yankees, allowing two runs in five and two-thirds innings. He surrendered five hits with the same amount of strikeouts. Matt Snyder drilled his third home run and drove in three. The Yankees have an early day Wednesday. Luis Severino will take the hill at 12:00 against Clearwater.
Low-A
GAME 1
Charleston RiverDogs (35-40) defeat Savannah Sand Gnats (46-25) 6-1
Caleb Smith started game one for the RiverDogs and gave up one run on three hits. Omar Luis and Brett Gerittse came in to shut out the Sand Gants over the next five innings. Dustin Fowler paced the offense, with his fifth homer and three RBI.
GAME 2
Charleston RiverDogs (35-41) lose to Savannah Sand Gnats (47-25) 2-0
Rookie Davis started and pitched well, but was the hard-luck loser in game two. He went six innings, allowing one run on four hits and struck out five. The offense could not pick him up, collecting just two hits as a unit. The two teams will square off again Wednesday at 7:05. Chaz Hebert will make the start for Charleston.
