Who’s Hot?: Robinson Cano has pretty much been hot all year long, hitting .332 this year with 33 RBI. James Jones has also been pretty steady this year, hittng .284 with three triples, he is coming off a 3-for-4 game against the Rays. One guy who has truly been turning it around is Brad Miller although his average has been around .170 all year long, Miller has gone 8-for-31 (.258 avg) with a homer and a triple his last few games.

For the Yankees, its been all Jacoby Ellsbury and Yangarvis Solarte when it comes to hot hitters. Ellsbury has been hitting .375 his last ten games. While Solarte is hitting .371 with a homer over the last ten games. We’re still waiting for the rest of the Yankees bats to come out of their slumbers.

Who’s Not?: Alfonso Soriano has been in a funk of lately hitting just .172 over his last ten games. Soriano is known as a streaky hitter, so expect him to find a groove sooner than later. He is also slated to play more against lefties so that should get him more balanced and comfortable at the plate.

*What To Watch For*

The Mariners’ pitching staff has suddenly become formidable, the Yankees really need to come out of the slump if they expect to put some runs up in the pitcher friendly Safeco Field. Expect a low scoring series.
