CC Sabathia says he’s not concerned about his performance. Joe Girardi says he’s not concerned about it either. My question to both is don’t you think it’s time yet? Sabathia couldn’t pick up his teammates as the Yankees fell 5-4 to the Brew Crew.

Carlos Gomez greeted Sabathia rudely in his return to Milwaukee as he led off the bottom half of the first with his ninth homer of the year.

The Yankees came back against Kyle Lohse in the third with two out. Jacoby Ellsbury reached on catcher’s interference. Brett Gardner would triple home Ellsbury to tie it. Carlos Beltran drove in Gardner with a single.

The Brewers had their own two out rally in the bottom half. Jean Segura reached on a rare error from Brendan Ryan, making his first start of the year. Johnathan Lucroy then followed with his second homer of the year. Aramis Ramirez made it back to back with his fifth of the year.

The Yankees cut it to 4-3 when Mark Teixeira hit his sixth homer of the year in the sixth.

The Brewers had their own rally in the bottom half of the inning, loading the bases with two singles and walk. In came Dellin Betances and Betances did what he does. He struck out Scooter Gennett and Gomez to end the inning and keep it tied.

The Yankees bench helped tie the game in the seventh. Kelly Johnson led off with a walk and Ichiro Suzuki singled. Two batters later, Alfonso Soriano singled to tie it.

Unfortunately, the Brewers took the lead for good in the bottom the seventh off Alfredo Aceves.

Lucroy doubled and went to third on a balk. Rickie Weeks then drove in his first run of the year with a single.

The rubber game is tomorrow afternoon at 2:10 ET. David Phelps will face Matt Garza.
