The New York Yankees’ trip to California had the Hollywood ending, but the story leading up was far from pleasant for their fans. The Bronx Bombers went 1-5 out in California and nearly blew a 6-0 lead in the 9th inning to the Angels on Sunday. That being said, the Yankees’ got a dominating performance from CC Sabathia on Sunday and are only three games back of the Boston Red Sox in the AL East right now. The concern from the trip continues to be the offense, especially with general manager Brian Cashman leaning towards putting Mark Teixeira on the disabled list again after re-aggravating his wrist injury. Now, Lyle Overbay will get to play his natural position on an everyday basis, but the lineup takes a huge hit with a switch hitter like Teixeira out of the lineup. Now, New York looks to start off their nine game homestand on the right note.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been a team that has not lived up to expectations this season. The last place team in the National League West has had their share of bench-clearing brawls and in-house feuds with former Yankee, now Dodger manager, Don Mattingly and outfielder Andre Ethier. They have suffered injuries to their pitching staff and two of their key offensive players in outfielders Matt Kemp and Carl Crawford. However, the bright spot is Puig-mania. Yaisel Puig is hitting over .400 right now for the Dodgers. Along with Adrian Gonzalez, the two of them trying to provide some offense for a team that is towards the bottom of the majors in runs scored.

On this episode of the Yanks Go Yard Series Preview Show, presented by BaldVinny.com, Ricky recaps the Yankees’ series against the Angels and the implications of the Mark Teixeira news.
