Double Trouble: The Yankees didn’t score a single run in either of their split squad games, losing 7-0 to the Philadelphia Phillies and 4-0 to the Atlanta Braves. The Yankees had just two hits against the Braves, by Eduardo Nunez and Matt Diaz (more on him in a second). On the plus side, Derek Jeter played in back to back games at shortstop for the first time and got through it.

Diaz cut: With all of the outfielders the Yankees have been adding of late, in Brennan Boesch and Ben Francisco, you had to figure someone would go. That guy is Matt Diaz. Diaz was released this morning by the Yankees. The release now will give him a chance to catch on with another team before the season starts. Diaz hit .200 this spring with 2 RBI.

Minors or Majors: One of the interesting things to come out yesterday was more details on Brennan Boesch’s deal. Boesch has two options left to the minors, and if he plays in Scranton, he’ll make $500k instead of the $1.5 in the majors.

Not Til June: Mark Teixeira was in camp today and the Yankees didn’t get the best news. He could be out until June because of the injury to his wrist. He said it’s stiff but there’s no pain, however, he needs to take it slow. He still doesn’t need surgery on it on the plus side.

Lineup: Here’s today lineup against the Pittsburgh Pirates at 1:05. No TV or radio today.
