Yankees-Rangers Podcast Preview

What a weekend it was in Fenway for the New York Yankees! Not only do they win the two games they played there, but they pulled off a historic comeback in their 15-9 victory on Saturday. Now, the Yankees are back in a tie for first place as they prepare for six games this week against IMO, two of the best teams in the American League.

The Texas Rangers are next on the schedule for tonight through Wednesday and they have been the best team so far. Their rotation has only lost one game, which is incredible! The Yankees dominated Texas last year, going 5-1 against them, but the Rangers know they can compete against the big boys making two straight World Series and beating the Yankees in the 2010 ALCS. Thanks to the rain delay last night, CC Sabathia starts the opener tonight on ESPN and My9.

Last night, I recorded a What’s Brewin’ With the Bombers episode with my friend, George Brew to talk about this pivotal series. Here are some points we touch on:

  • Yankees-Red Sox Recap
  • Pitching Matchups
  • CC in Arlington
  • Derek Holland – one of AL’s best, but not vs. Yanks
  • Battle of Japan – Kuroda vs. Darvish
  • Darvish’s control problems
  • Huge start for Kuroda
  • Spot start for Texas Wednesday
  • Hughes’ rank on the totem pole
  • PREDICTION
  • Texas Rangers breakdown!
