A’s-Yankees Podcast Preview: A Brief Return Home

facebooktwitterreddit

This week, the Yankees make a brief trip back to their friendly confines of Yankee Stadium to take on a team they usually dominate in the Oakland Athletics. New York is 5-1 against them in six games this season and will look to build their current one game lead they have on Boston before they play the Red Sox next week.

With all the A.J Burnett drama in Minnesota, the Yankees still took 3 out of 4 and got a lot of positives from their young starters in Phil Hughes and Ivan Nova. Today, we take a look at the Athletics and see if they give any challenge to the Yankees. It won’t mean much to Oakland who is out of the race, but interim manager Bob Melvin wants to see what the future A’s team in 2012 will have on the roster.

Here is what I talk about on the podcast:

  • Yankees-Twins Recap
  • Pitching Matchups
  • Is Colon’s playoff spot in jeopardy?
  • Cahill’s catastrophes in the Bronx
  • CC on the right track
  • Harden still is in Oakland = Bad for Yankees
  • Hughes’ huge hurdle
  • Hottest HR hitter in 2nd half – Josh Willingham?
  • Matsui back in the Bronx?
  • Oakland’s bullpen
  • Bailey’s perfect post ASG save total
  • PREDICTION!

Keep in mind, I am taking questions for the upcoming five game series against the Baltimore Orioles. If you have questions, comment them on this page or send them to my Twitter: @arth65456. I will try to fit your question in with my time constraints for a rather unique circumstance of a five game series.
