Despite arguing his way deeper into Game 1 of the Yankees' three-game set in Los Angeles than he probably had any business being, new starting center fielder Greg Allen is likely to hit the shelf with a hip flexor problem.

While Allen is still listed on Saturday's lineup card, it seems likely he'll be hitting the Injured List in favor of a member of the taxi squad in the coming hours/days.

The semi-good news? The Yankees didn't opt to bring Franchy Cordero back, who's already done his business this season and offers very little.

The rough news? Oswaldo Cabrera, who has a locker in LA, seems likely to get the call. We love Oswaldo! We really do. But demoting him to work on his swing was an additional bonus of the Giancarlo Stanton recovery tour, and now, he'll be tossed right back into the big-league fire after 0.0 seconds to catch his breath.

Yankees lose Ryan Weber, likely Greg Allen in roster shuffle

Cabrera is a big-leaguer. We know he is. But not right now. Instead of an extended retooling, he seems likely to be forced back into action for the Yankees in the coming days. Hope you learned a lot on the round-trip between Seattle, Scranton, and Los Angeles, kid!

But that's not all. Luis Severino's struggles appear to have cost a beloved mop-up man his job, too.

Because the team will need additional arms for the remainder of this series, Ryan Weber has found his way off the roster, giving way to left-hander Nick Ramirez for Saturday's contest.

Weber was DFA'd last season and managed to clear waivers and find his way back to the Bronx. According to Bryan Hoch, he'll go on the injured list this time around.

If he'd been exposed to waivers, other teams might've been swayed by his 3.14 ERA in 14.1 hilarious seven-strikeout innings.

Weber will be missed, but these are the breaks, if the rest of the roster is breaking in real time. Hopefully, Cabrera was miraculously rejuvenated by his recent reality check.
