Where do New York Yankees host Spring Training in Florida?

The New York Yankees will kick off their 2023 season officially against the San Francisco Giants at Yankee Stadium on Thursday, March 30. An opening series against the team that nearly stole Aaron Judge away, huh? Pretty fun. That's pretty fun. Could've been absolutely excruciating, but should be pretty fun.

Before the team is ready for the regular season, though, they'll be playing a month's worth of spring training games in Florida -- 32 games, to be exact, in Grapefruit League play.

While many MLB teams have shuffled their spring training sites around in recent years, with even some of the most steadfast Floridians swapping coasts to Arizona (looking at you, Dodgers), the Yankees have stayed put, and will open this year's slate at the pro-quality George M. Steinbrenner Field once again.

Where do the New York Yankees play their 2023 Spring Training schedule in Florida?

The Yankees reside in Tampa, FL before the season begins. After the MLB team heads north, they hand the ballpark over to the High-A Tampa Tarpons of the Florida State League, a team managed by trailblazer Rachel Balkovec.

No wonder Aaron Judge and a bunch of his Yankees teammates attending a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game just before his decision raised eyebrows, huh? Context clues suggested Judge was meeting someone in Steinbrenner's camp at the team facility, and his commitment to the Yankees the next day doesn't exactly refute that.

Steinbrenner Field remains a state-of-the-art facility, and it appears to have escaped this winter's Florida storms unscathed. The same can't be said for every franchise's camp, sadly, as the Tampa Bay Rays have shuffled things around in the wake of Hurricane Ian. The Rays will work out at Disney's Wide World of Sports and play most of their games at Tropicana Field, their typical home park, beginning in March.

The extenuating circumstances will result in something unique for the Yankees, however; the Bombers will be the only MLB team to play a spring training game against the Rays at Disney World this year, playing at The Stadium at the ESPN Wide World of Sports on Feb. 28.
