Yankees ace Gerrit Cole’s brand new baby watched his dad’s Yankee Stadium debut.

Gerrit Cole’s been all smiles since joining the New York Yankees — as long as nobody interferes with his prized baseballs, at least.

Though the powerful righty is a dangerous competitor and remarkably driven, he’s also a family man who has a new motivator at home in the form of his brand new baby boy, Caden.

Mom Amy and the bouncing baby boy are, by all accounts, home and healthy, but they made sure to tune in while the man of the house toiled on his new home mound for the first time ever on Tuesday.

Amy Cole posted an adorable photo on her Instagram story of Caden posted up on her lap watching pop’s big game on YES Network, and it’s safe to say this is only the beginning.

Whew, sorry. I was just imaging 9-year-old Caden when Gerrit’s contract is about to expire, and I got cold chills.

Hopefully, the baby liked what he saw, as you’re not going to get much more ruthlessly efficient than what Cole did during this nearly-full-powered intrasquad scrimmage. The flamethrower retired 10 straight to end his outing, unleashing his entire arsenal.

It’s safe to assume, though, that little Caden also threw a temper tantrum when Miguel Andujar homered off his dad in the first inning. It was just the ball, Caden! He had to use one he didn’t like! Pandemic baseball is weird, but you’ll get used to it (well, hopefully, you actually will not).

We look forward to more chime-ins from the Cole family as their patriarch’s milestones get more impressive, and we’re currently crossing all our fingers and toes that Gerrit’s able to toe the rubber on Opening Night against Max Scherzer and the Washington Nationals.
