CC Sabathia

  • Previous team: New York Yankees
  • 2017 Stats: 14-5/148.2 IP/139 H/120 K/50 BB/3.69 ERA/ 1.27 WHIP
  • C.C. was an absolute workhorse for the Yankees last season, especially in the playoffs.  The 37-year-old vet is at the tail end of his career but his leadership and knowledge of the game would benefit the baby bombers. Sabathia proved he could still compete with the best of them. Simply by looking at the numbers he put up in 2017, CC is definitely worthy of another couple of years in the Bronx. While the contract the Yanks would be offering isn’t expected to be more than two years, Sabathia would be an important asset to the rotation. The energy and passion he shows for the game of baseball is something special and I am sure the players and fans in New York would love to have Carsten Charles Sabathia back in the rotation and on the bump in Yankee Stadium.

Mike Moustakas

  • Previous team: Kansas City Royals
  • 2017 Stats: .272 BA/.314 OBP/.521 SLG/38 HR/85 RBI
  • With the Yankees trading away their third baseman Chase Headley, they should be looking to add a young talent to the hot corner. The only reason the organization would hesitate when signing an infielder would be because of the talented prospects that could be in the big league lineup by the start of the season, namely Miguel Andujar and Gleyber Torres.  However, Moustakas would be an amazing sign for the Yankees if they are able to find a reasonable deal. Now that Headley is gone, the Yanks have a bit more cash to spend on a special player like Moustakas. For someone who had never stood out as a power hitter in years past, the 29-year-old slugged a low-key 38 home runs just a season ago. That many home runs in Kaufmann Stadium would mean even more home runs in pinstripes playing in the bandbox known as Yankee Stadium.
