A- Tampa

Tampa won three of their four games prior to the All-Star Break. Tampa had eight players represent the Northern Division including Mike Ford and Miguel Andujar who had hits in the game.

Hitter Of The Week: Ericson Leonora

Leonora had three hits and four RBI over the final two games before the All-Star Break. Leonora leads the team in homers (10) and RBI (38).

Runner Up: Mark Payton

Last year’s seventh round pick got promoted to AA for a 10 game stint then was sent back down to Tampa. No matter. Payton came back  and picked up a homer and two RBI.

Pitcher Of The Week: Rookie Davis

Davis rebounded from his worst start in a month scattering 10 hits over six innings and allowing one run in the Yankees win last Tuesday. Davis added in seven strikeouts as well in the effort.

Runner-Up: Giovanny Gallegos

Gallegos pitched 4.1 innings of shut out ball in relief over two games including the 17 inning marathon victory. Gallegos gave up four hits and struck out two. He’s pitched quite well out of the bullpen for Tampa. So far in 10 games he’s got a 1.14 ERA. In 23.2 innings. he’s given up 14 hits and struck out 20.
