1B. Kyle Roller

Yeah I’ve talked about this guy a lot in this space and you know what? Let’s do it again.

Roller is tied for eighth in RBI, first in homers, fifth in slugging, and sixth in OPS in the International League. He’s also only made one error this season too. Power doesn’t grow on trees and the 27 year old has it. He just needs a chance to come up and show.

Greg Bird gets all the hype, and rightfully so, however, Roller has some talent too. He was left unprotected in the Rule V Draft

If I had to guess, Mark Teixeira will miss some time at some point. Garrett Jones is there, and in fairness to him, hasn’t gotten enough time to show what he can do because Alex Rodriguez has been so impressive at DH.

The Yankees offense had a bad week this week, and if they want a bat to try out at DH if Tex or A-Rod is hurt, maybe Roller finally gets a chance to strut his stuff at the big league level.
