The Tampa Yankees (65-65) defeated the Brevard County Manatees (65-59) 10-6.
The T-Yanks won their second in a row Thursday night. One more and they got themselves a winning streak. Brett Gerritse didn’t have his best stuff getting Tampa back to .500 on the year. He went 5.2 innings and was smacked around for six hits and four runs. He was also a bit wild walking four, but still struck out five. Caleb Cotham threw 1.1 innings of scoreless relief while striking out all but one batter he faced.
The T-Yanks offense put up ten runs a night after scoring 11 so they bats have certainly been alive. First baseman Reymond Nunez went off for a 3-for-4 night with two home runs and four RBI. Nunez now has three home runs over the last two nights. Right fielder Aaron Judge looks like he is getting hot again. One night after amassing three hits, Judge had a 2-for-3 evening with two walks. Center fielder Mark Payton, who went 4-for-4 Wednesday, tallied two more hits Thursday. Taylor Garrison takes the mound Friday night. Game time is 7:00 PM.
