For the Yankees and Mark Teixeira, it is imperative that the first baseman returns to the lineup soon. Why not return to where it all began, as Tex spent his four seasons, and some change in Arlington, before being dealt to the Atlanta Braves. So far in 2014, Tex as 17 long balls, and 54 driven in.
Along with Chase Headley and Carlos Beltran, the return of Tex would provide a solid middle-of-the-order, all of whom are switch-hitters for the Yankees. Teixeira has missed the last several games with a lat pull. The Yankees have been playing short-handed, not placing Tex on the DL, hoping that his return would come sooner than later. If he can’t go at all in the Texas series, expect a roster move to happen no later than Thursday.
