The New York Yankees came into last night’s game against the Oakland A’s riding a three-game win streak and had previously won nine straight at Oakland Coliseum. But, the Athletics are rolling right now too and rookie A.J. Griffin kept the Bombers off the scoreboard for the first five innings, while his offense reached Freddy Garcia for four runs in the first three innings, on the way to a 4-3 victory over the Yankees to the delight of hundreds of barking dogs. Go West, New York Baseball! That’s right, the Yankees begin their first West Coast trip of the regular season tonight against the surprising Oakland Athletics. New York is coming out west on a good note, winning their last two games against the Kansas City Royals and getting some pop from the offense, particularly Alex Rodriguez.
