When the New York Yankees signed Hiroki Kuroda to a one-year deal over the winter, it was looked at as move to fill a void in the middle of the rotation. New York Yankees right fielder Nick Swisher blasted a go-ahead grand slam and Derek Lowe pitched four innings of relief for his first save in over 11 years (almost to the date) which helped earn David Phelps his first victory as a starter in the Yankees 8-2 drubbing of Ryan Dempster and the Texas Rangers. Yankees run win streak to ten behind Sabathia’s complete game

New York Yankees ace CC Sabathia didn’t want to be the one who let the win streak end. He made sure it wouldn’t with his first complete game of 2012 in a 6-2 win over the Atlanta Braves. The Yankees have now won ten in a row and 20 out of their last 24 contests. (more…)
