Yankees finish off Blue Jays behind Kuroda’s gem

One thing teams do not want on getaway day is a long drawn out game. The New York Yankees had Mother Nature and their own offense working against that desire yesterday. Fortunately, Yankees starter Hiroki Kuroda offset rain delays and the offensive rallies with quick and efficient work when he was on the mound. In the end mother nature helped out by being too strong and the Yankees swept the Toronto Blue Jays by winning the series finale 6-0 in seven innings. (more…)

Wednesday, the New York Yankees claimed Darnell McDonald off waivers. McDonald has spent most of his career as a part-time outfielder for the rival Red Sox and the other half in the minors. His role, as a right-handed bat, has been as a platoon player against left-handed pitching. Most fans outside of New England might know him best for his recent Sports Center diving catch on a fly ball hit by Blue Jays 2B Kelly Johnson. Kuroda, Yankees embarrassed by Blue Jays 8-1

Hiroki Kuroda‘s road woes continued last night as the New York Yankees were pummeled by the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre, 8-1. Kuroda allowed seven earned runs including three home runs in five difficult to watch innings. (more…)
