The New York Yankees have had their fare share of injuries this season and to incredibly key members of the team. They have received excellent production from the remainder of the roster to offset the missed time to Brett Gardner, Mariano Rivera and Joba Chamberlain. Ouch! Yankees lose Sabathia and Pettitte on same day

Earlier today the New York Yankees announced CC Sabathia was placed on the 15-day DL due to a groin strain, and the injury news got worse when Andy Pettitte took a liner off his left ankle in the fifth inning of today’s 5-4 win over the Cleveland Indians. (more…)

The New York Yankees are rolling right now. They have won 9 of 11 and 14 of 18 since dropping to .500 on May 21st and last night’s win put them into a tie for first place with the Tampa Bay Rays. Robertson to DL, Nova better: Yankees’ pitching depth to be tested

The New York Yankees are hurting. David Robertson has been placed on the disabled list with a strained left oblique according to various tweets from Yankees beat writers. Ivan Nova was said to be feeling better and may make his next start. While a team never wants to lose members of the back end of the bullpen or its rotation, the Yankees are built to withstand the losses for short or long periods of time. (more…)
