The New York Yankees stayed under the radar of the rumor mill and surprised everyone yesterday as they pulled off a trade for Seattle Mariners outfielder and ten-time All-Star Ichiro Suzuki. The big news surrounding the New York Yankees is of course the acquisition of Ichiro Suzuki from the Seattle Mariners which went down hours before he was set to take the field against the Bombers. The New York Yankees have traded D.J. Mitchell and Danny Farquhar to the Seattle Mariners for Ichiro Suzuki and cash first reported by Jack Curry of the YES Network via Twitter. Ichiro will be in tonight’s lineup for the Yankees, but the position in the lineup has yet to be determined by manager Joe Girardi. (more…)
