The New York Yankees can now add “without a homer” as a form of victory to their resume for the season. In their 64th game the Yankees finally notched a win in a game they did not hit a home run, as they outlasted the Washington Nationals in 14 innings, 5-3. (more…)

The New York Yankees may not want to have today’s off day considering how well things are going for them recently. Curtis Granderson‘s two-run homer put the Yankees back on top for good and Hiroki Kuroda continued his strong pitching as the Yankees swept the Atlanta Braves with a 3-2 victory last night at Turner Field. Alex Rodriguez finds himself in iconic New York Yankees company this morning after hitting a game-tying grand slam off Atlanta Braves reliever Jonny Venters. The eighth-inning homer keyed a six-run outburst which aided the Bombers to a 6-4 victory. Rodriguez’s line drive blast tied Yankees Hall of Fame legend Lou Gehrig for the most grand-slams in major league history with 23. It couldn’t have come at a better time. (more…)

The New York Yankees (34-25), fresh off a Subway Series sweep of the New York Mets, are now set to begin a six-game road trip tonight versus the Atlanta Braves (34-26). The Yanks will then travel to Washington, D.C. to take on the current NL East leading Nationals (35-23). (more…)

The first round of the Subway Series turned out to be instant success for the New York Yankees. During their sweep, they blew out a quality pitcher in Johan Santana, got some solid starting pitching, and some timely hitting. The clutch hitting culminated with Russell Martin‘s walk-off home run in the 9th inning on Sunday to end the sweep. The Bronx Bombers have won four straight and went 5-1 on the homestand. However, they now face a tough six-game road trip against two solid National League East teams.
