This episode of the Yanks Go Yard Radio Show gets you set for this weekend’s series against the Chicago White Sox.

On last night’s episode of the Yanks Go Yard Radio Show, I started off the episode by talking about the New York Yankees (14-19) taking three out of four games from the Kansas City Royals. Even though Jacoby Ellsbury is still not in the lineup, New York’s offense scored 26 runs in the four games and saw their new closer, Aroldis Chapman, pick up his first save as a Yankee.

Plus, as the show was going live last night, it was tweeted by Scranton Wilkes-Barre beat writer Shane Hennigan that Gary Sanchez was called up from triple-A. Sanchez will bat sixth and be the designated hitter tonight.  The Yankees will end their homestand with a three game series against the team with the best record in the American League, the Chicago White Sox (23-12).

Even though Robin Ventura’s team lost two out of three games to the Rangers this week, they currently have a five game lead on the Cleveland Indians in the AL Central. This offseason, they went out and made numerous moves, including acquiring third baseman Todd Frazier in a trade with the Reds. Frazier is second in the American League in home runs (11) and RBI’s (31) and he had three home runs and ten RBI’s during the Rangers series.

This month, the White Sox are tied with the Cubs for third in runs scored in all of baseball (60). Besides Frazier, another player to watch is first baseman Jose Abreu (.252, five home runs, 22 RBI’s), who has two home runs and nine RBI’s in his last ten games.

On the mound, Chicago has arguably one of the best 1-2 duos in their staring rotation with Chris Sale and Jose Quintana. Sale and Quintana will both be pitching this weekend against the Yankees. But, their surprise in the rotation has been Mat Latos (5-0, 3.40 ERA), who they signed to a one-year deal late in the offseason.
