It’s good to have baseball back!  The New York Yankees got to see an old friend in Robinson Cano, and the Seattle Mariner’s for a three game series. Masahiro Tanaka got the start this Friday, and was able to get the win as the Yankees beat the M’s win 4-3.

Chris Young was able to get the party started for the Yankees with a solo home run in the bottom of the second. Then in the bottom of the fourth, Young got the inning started off with a double. Then the next at-bat Chase Headley was able to get a single, and bring home  Young to score the Yankees second run of the night. The following inning the Yankees were able to score another run with a Brian McCann RBI single scoring Alex Rodriguez.

Masahiro Tanaka looked great in going seven strong innings. Tanaka finished with seven strike outs and only two walks. The only problem for Masahiro Tanaka was Kyle Seager. He went 2 for 3 off of Masahiro Tanaka. Both those hits were for home runs. The first home run was a solo home run in the top of the third. The other home run was a two run home run in the top of the fifth. Those three runs is what Tanaka gave up this evening.

In the bottom of the seventh the Yankees were able to break the tie. Alex Rodriguez, whom many Yankee fans believe was an all-star snub, was able to hit his 19th home run of the season. His solo home run made the score 4-3.

Dellin Betances and Andrew Miller came in the eighth and ninth inning to finish the job. Dellin Betances had a 1-2-3 dominate eighth inning. Then Andrew Miller got another save in the ninth to get the Yankees off on the right foot for the second half.

The Yankees will be playing at 1:05 tomorrow against Seattle, where Michael Pineda will take the hill.
