A major part of being a manager for big league market is dealing with the media. Joe Girardi talked with the media to give updates on certain Yankee players, and recent moves by the club. People will always critique how Girardi manages, but he is always available for some type of quote.

The biggest move in the past few days was the Yankees outrighted struggling bullpen arm Esmil Rogers. Sergio Santos replaced Rogers and struggled in his début. Girardi talked how the Yankees want Rogers to stay in the system and start in Triple A. For Santos Girardi talked about how important he can be for the pen.

"‘We are going to need him,’ Girardi said. ‘He is a guy who has closed. We have to get him on track. He has a swing and miss slider.’"

Another bullpen move the Yankees made was sending Jacob Lindgren, and promoted right hand pitcher Jose Ramirez. Now Lindgren did not make the greatest start to his career, but Joe Girardi understands, and sees the talent.

"‘For a guy who was drafted last year he did OK,’ Girardi said of Lindgren.  ‘Obviously, there were some pitches he would like to have back, but you see the talent is there.’"

Jacoby Ellsbury traveled with the team down to Miami, and Joe Girardi talks about the process with Jacoby’s knee. It is very difficult with knee injuries and the Yankees are on the side of precaution. If all works out, however Ellsbury will be working in the minor league complex down in Florida.

"It’s been pretty good but still not where it needs to be,’ Girardi said. ‘There is a little feeling he needs to get rid of. I wouldn’t call it pain.’"

With the bullpen moves the Yankees have made hopefully they can solidify the bullpen that has been very shaky at times. The Yankee offense also just needs to hold on for a bit, so they can get their 1-2-punch back at the top of the order. The Calvary is coming for the Yankees, we all need just need to be patient, and keep battling.
