Michael Pineda was given extra rest to keep his innings down. He kept his innings down tonight as well as he only lasted 4.1 innings in the Baltimore Orioles 11-3 rout of the New York Yankees for their second loss in a row.
The Yankees had Ubaldo Jimenez on the ropes in the first as they loaded the bases thanks to two singles and a walk, but Mark Teixeira, Brian McCann and Carlos Beltran failed to get a run in.
The O’s responded in the bottom half of the first. Manny Machado led off with a walk and Jimmy Parades singled. Two batters later, Chris Davis knocked in a run.

Jacob Lindgren would come in and got out of a jam in the bottom of the fifth, but ran into trouble when Caleb Joseph hit a solo shot off him.
Esmil Rogers, in what may be his final appearance since he was outrighted after the game, and didn’t stop the fire. Machado singled, Parades reached on a Teixeira error. After two outs, J.J. Hardy doubled in two and then scored on Travis Snider‘s single.
Parades would then drive in another run to end the scoring.
