Yankees Editorial: Andrew Miller Takes the Subway to Yankee Stadium

If you ever have gone to Yankee Stadium, you have most likely have taken the subway to get there. It is the easiest way to get to the stadium, and Andrew Miller agrees. A Reddit user (Game_Two) met Andrew Miller on the Subway after a home game.

Andrew Miller was The New York Yankees big free-agent signing this year, and has been fantastic. Miller has been able to replace David Robertson, and become a shut down closer for the Yankees. Andrew Miller signed a 4-year/36 million dollar deal, but instead of taking a fancy to car to the stadium, he takes the 4 train.

The Reddit user was able to get a picture with the tall left hand pitcher, and was able to talk to him for about ten minutes. Here is the link to the picture of the two together on the 4 train. (Game_Two) wanted to make sure that Andrew Miller knew he was on his fantasy baseball team, and was killing it for the Reddit users team.

The Yankee fans have accepted Andrew Miller immediately as the closer, as he’s been dealing all year. Miller is a perfect 9-for-9 in save opportunities, but more impressive is his era. In 12 1/3 innings pitch Andrew Miller has an era of 0.00, and has not even given up an unearned run this year.

I love that Andrew Miller is taking the subway to Yankee Stadium. When players actually talk and interact with the fans, they become Yankee favorites real quick. That Miller is taking the subway is one thing, but willing to talk to the fans is even more impressive. Nobody would blame Miller if he puts his headphones in and just sat quietly with his head down trying not to talk to anybody like your typical New Yorker, but instead, he is willing to talk to the Yankee universe.

Next time you are taking the 4 train home from Yankee Stadium you may see the Yankee closer, Andrew Miller.
