Yankees Editorial: Yankees Bullpen is Best in Baseball, and It’s Not Even Close

If the Yankees are leading after seven innings this year, the other team might as well just go home. Dellin Betances and Andrew Miller have been lights out. Betances has decided to not give up hits anymore, in his last five appearances he has not given up a hit. Andrew Miller has yet to give up a run this year.

When the Yankees made this team, they knew the bullpen was going to be the strength of this team. What people did not know is how dominant the entire bullpen would be this year. Though the entire bullpen has been great Betances and Miller are on a whole other level. Joe Girardi talks about how great they have been to the NY Post.

"We were kind of excited at the prospect of those two at the back end, being able to give us more than six outs. Dellin is used to it more than Andrew. Dellin has only one year in the big leagues, but he did it a lot for us [last year]. We thought it could be a really good combination and so far it has played out."

Even when Betances, and Miller had the day off on Wednesday the bullpen stepped up again. Esmil Rogers came in for 2 2/3 of relief last night striking out five. Then Chris Martin came in the ninth inning, and recorded his first career save. The bullpen is leading the major leagues with 93 strikeouts.

The only bullpen that is close to the Yankee bullpen is the Kansas City Royals bullpen. Last year the Royals bullpen carried the entire team to the seventh game of the World Series. If the Yankee’s bullpen is as dominate as the Royals bullpen were last year, the Yankees will be in October and making some noise.

WATCH OUT AL the Yankee’s bullpen is coming for you!
