Yankees News: Alex Rodriguez has Got a Friend in Carlos Beltran

The New York Yankees management hate Alex Rodriguez, they want him to retire and never show his face again, but that just will not happen. A-Rod is in the club house, and management has to deal with that fact. The players on the other hand are rallying behind A-Rod. One player in particular that is helping A-Rod to acclimate back is Carlos Beltran.

Both players are trying to have a bounce back season, even though last season was vastly different for the two players. Alex Rodriguez was suspended all last year, and is trying to come back at 40 to be a productive player. Carlos Beltran is coming off of one of his worst season’s where he could not stay healthy.

Both players in spring have been healthy so far, and want to make impact in a positive way for the clubhouse. These two players have been friends for about 15 years, and they will rely on each other when times are tough for one another.

Chili Davis, the Red Sox new hitting coach, knows both Carlos Beltran, and Alex Rodriguez. Chili believes that Beltran and A-Rod can be successful.

"If they really want to re-establish themselves, there’s no doubt in my mind they can do it. I played when I was 39 (years old), and I didn’t think it made that much of a difference to me, being older. In Alex’s case, he’s been away from the game for (more than) a year, but he still knows the game. It’s not like you’re talking about a guy who hasn’t accomplished anything, or two guys who haven’t. And Carlos Beltran is one of the all-time switch hitters in the game … I would never underestimate either one of them."

Everybody needs that one person in life that they can lean on to talked about anything. Weather it is the office Co-worker, or your spouse, or a teammate, you just need a confidante. It looks like Carlos Beltran and Alex Rodriguez will be each others confidante this year.
