On last night’s episode of the Yanks Go Yard Radio Show, brought to you by KNODA.com, I started off the episode by talking about my takeaways from the New York Yankees’ first three Spring Training games. I gave my takes on Alex Rodriguez’s first game in spring that took place Wednesday, the debuts of Nathan Eovaldi and Andrew Miller, and the younger prospects such as Aaron Judge and Tyler Austin making a good first impression in Tampa as they are the only two Bronx Bombers to hit a home run this spring. Plus, what were my thoughts on Brian Cashman’s comments about making Derek Jeter the last Captain in the franchise’s illustrious history.

In our first segment, we continued our 2015 State of the AL East by taking a look at the Boston Red Sox. Boston added Pablo Sandoval and Hanley Ramirez to bolster their offense that was 18th in runs scored a season ago. The big hole on their roster right now is the lack of an ace in their starting rotation despite adding Wade Miley, Justin Masterson, and Rick Porcello this winter.

To discuss the Red Sox, I spoke with Brandon Nickel, the co-editor of BoSox Injection to get his thoughts on Sandoval/Ramirez, the Yoan Moncada signing, the oblique injury to outfielder Rusney Castillo, any concerns in the Boston bullpen, whether or not the Red Sox should wait till the trade deadline to trade for a Cole Hamels or Cliff Lee to fix the rotation, and who might be the X-Factor for this year’s team. In addition, what were Brandon’s thoughts on Boston extending manager John Farrell’s contract even though the team is coming off their second last place finish in the AL East over the last three years.

In our second segment, we switched gears a little bit and previewed the 2015 New York Yankees from a fantasy perspective with Michael Florio from RotoExperts.com. Michael and I talked about the Yankees you should draft (Jacoby Ellsbury and Brian McCann), fantasy sleepers (Nathan Eovaldi and Carlos Beltran), and players you should not draft, such as first baseman Mark Teixeira.

Plus, we discuss how fantasy owners should go about analyzing the Yankees closer situation, do you draft Alex Rodriguez, and where should you draft Masahiro Tanaka in your league? Finally, Michael gives his expert tips on how to win your fantasy baseball league, whether it’s a head-to-head or rotisserie league.
