Spring Training is a time when you get in and you kind of see what you have on your roster. Not only that, it gives you a chance to take a look at some of your prospects. Who can make the jump? Who’s close? Who can be a part of your future as you move forward?

For the Yankees, three prospects are turning people’s heads so far. One made his debut last season, while two are a couple of the top prospects in the entire organization.

Jose Ramirez had a cup of coffee last season, and struggled a bit, though he did average a strikeout per inning. This year in camp, he looks better. Here’s what Joe Girardi said to NJ.com.

"Among those young guys, Girardi spoke of three Monday: Gregory Bird and Aaron Judge along with 25-year-old righty-handed pitcher Jose Ramirez.“This young man’s got really good stuff,” Girardi said of Ramirez. “He’s got a good fastball, great change-up, a slider that is improved…the big thing is keeping him healthy and allowing him to pitch.”Ramirez appeared in eight games in 2014, pitching 10 innings while giving up six runs. “He’s been in some tough situations…he didn’t get consistent work,” Girardi said."

Bird and Judge will both be playing in today’s first spring game against the Phillies.

"“I want them to get comfortable,” Girardi said of Judge and Bird. “But they both look like really good young players. You see the way they move around, the way they swing the bat, the way they go about their work. It’s good."

Both were in the AFL this past fall with bird winning MVP of the whole thing. Both are integral parts of the future. Bird could be a candidate to be a part of the team maybe in September, with Judge looking more like 2016 will be when he can come up.

Ramirez could be in the bullpen at some point this season. He’s no longer a starter, but he could end up being a part of the bullpen at some point. The Yankees really like his arm, and who knows, if he pitches well enough this spring, maybe he steals a spot?

All three guys are going to be a part of the Yankees future. This spring, we’ll get a glimpse of all three.
