Yankees News: Yankees World Series Odds And Fantasy Values Released

The New York Yankees fantasy player rankings are coming in, and the top five players have been revealed. The values of some Yankees are downright shocking.

According to MLB.com, Jacoby Ellsbury, Brian McCann, Masahiro Tanaka, Dellin Betances and Brett Gardner received the highest ratings. What is puzzling is how Ellsbury has a value that is double that of any other Yankee. MLB values Ellsbury at $29 and McCann at $14. And how does Betances only rate as number four with a nine dollar value? [related category]

The real shocker comes from the low values of Mark Teixeira and Michael Pineda. They come in at one dollar each. Teixeira has been on a mission this offseason. He is reportedly healthy and ready to show he is back. Pineda also is valued by MLB.com at one dollar. He finished strong last season and should be one of the Yankees top two starters. Rob Refsnyder is another Yankee who comes in valued at one dollar. Refsnyder could be one of the best fantasy sleepers.

With Spring Training approaching, fantasy will soon give way to reality. The Yankees odds of winning the world series this year have been listed by a popular Las Vegas Service as 25 to one. That ranks them thirteenth, tied with Kansas City and San Diego. The world series odds list is topped by the Washington Nationals at six to one and the Los Angeles Dodgers at eight to one. Boston leads the way in the American League at twelve to one.

The Yankees chances of winning the American League are reportedly a little better. The odds put them fifth in the league, behind Los Angeles, Boston, Seattle and Detroit. They share the fifth spot with Baltimore, Cleveland, Kansas City and Chicago.

Of course, there is only one number that matters. That is number four. Why is that number so important? Because that is the number of world series games that the Yankees will win in November.
