YGY Radio Rewind: Prospect Talk/Billy Sample Interview

On this episode of the Yanks Go Yard Radio Show, brought to you by KNODA.com, I started off the episode by giving my reaction to the trade that occurred last Friday between the New York Yankees and the Miami Marlins. While New York did trade away veteran second baseman Martin Prado along with starter/reliever David Phelps, they were able to get a young starting pitcher in Nathan Eovaldi, a first baseman/outfielder in Garrett Jones, and young pitching prospect Domingo German.

With this trade, the Yankees now have a likely competition for the second base spot between Rob Refsnyder and Jose Pirela. The chances of that only increased on Monday when Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reported that the Bronx Bombers are currently not interested in signing free agent infielder Asdrubal Cabrera.
