For him hitting a line drive that was simply caught, it still has fans lingering for that baseball. Bids have apparently reached over $7,500, and the bids concluded at 8 p.m. ET last night. The Sox are also auctioning off the first base bag that Jeter crossed when he was beating out an infield single in his last at-bat as a Yankee. Bids have been rumored to reach around $15,000 for that item.
Both of these items are being auctioned through Major League Baseball, specifically in the MLB’s in-house auction website. It will be interesting to hear about the final announcement about how much both of these pieces were really sold for.
