The Yankees Need To Focus On Themselves
The free agency season has been underway for a few weeks now, and many are wondering why the Yankees have been so quiet. The team usually is known for offering large contracts to multiple players throughout the off-season, but all they have done so far is re-signed outfielder Chris Young.

Many have compared the organization to the Red Sox, who recently signed All-Stars Hanley Ramirez and Pablo Sandoval to some hefty contracts. Both teams shouldn’t be compared, as they are both looking for different things to improve their clubs. It is a bizarre comparison, as the two teams have two different payrolls, along with two different strategies.
The Yankees may not be making any noise now, but there is still plenty of time left to make some rather good trades. It seems like the Yankees are starting to be more strategic with their money, which is smart on their part, since they are known for spending about $200 million on players. The team needs to focus on themselves, and try to bring back some key players like closer David Robertson. Max Scherzer and Troy Tulowitzki are both still on the market, and can both be huge pickups for the Yankees.
All in all, Brian Cashman is a smart general manager, and will make sure the Yankees will not sink to the bottom. The American League East is continuing to get exciting, as the Blue Jays just recently traded for Josh Donaldson from the Athletics. It will be interesting to see who the Yankees will be able to pick up in the next upcoming weeks.
