We continue our look inside the Winter League action where the Yankees have their minor leaguers playing in Venezuela, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and now Australia. The Australian Baseball League got underway on October 30. The Yankees have one player in their organization playing in the ABL. That player is outfielder Adam Silva.

Silva is 20 years old from Victoria, Australia and has been in the Yankees’ system since 2013. In two seasons, he has not made it past the Gulf Coast League and has played just 10 games combined n the GCL and Dominican Summer League. However, Silva is off to a great start to his ABL season. He is hitting .267 in four games with four RBI’s and four walks.

As for the rest of the Winter League action, most of the leagues are in the second half of their season that has about a month or so to go. As the seasons hit their stretch run, it will be interesting to see which players continue their great starts, which begin to rise the occasion, and which struggle to finish. While we will mention some of the names from previous updates, we also want to introduce you to some players that may not be off to great starts, but players that should still be mentioned that could make an impact in the future of the organization.
