By Jason Evans
The Yankees added a bit of a wild card to their bullpen for 2015. The Yankees declined the option on Andrew Bailey‘s contract and then re-signed the right-handed reliever to a minor league deal for 2015.

Bailey was the centerpiece of the trade that send Josh Reddick (and the Wham walk-up music) to Oakland. Bailey is coming off another arm injury when he injured his labrum that led him to surgery back in 2013.
Bailey has battled injuries all his career. He had microfracture knee surgery, intercostal strain, forearm strain and Tommy John Surgery in college.
Bailey was an All-Star in 2009 and 2010 when he broke in for Oakland.
He’s a local guy, going to Wagner College and is from Haddonfield New Jersey.
If Bailey can get healthy in any way shape or form, he can be a bonus at the back end of the bullpen for Joe Girardi to use, probably late in the season, if at all. I wouldn’t expect seeing him until around the All-Star break. It’s a lotto ticket and it’s not a bad idea.
Hopefully Bailey can get healthy and back on the mound for the first time in two years.
