Capuano was acquired by the Yankees from the Colorado Rockies mid-season, and pitched in the rotation for the remainder of the year. He had previously pitched for Boston Red Sox as well. Cano, willingly left New York for the Pacific Northwest last winter, following the dollars to become the leader of a young Seattle Mariners squad that just missed out on the postseason during his first season.
Capuano’s former skipper in Boston, John Farrell along with Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona will lead the MLB players as they begin their series in Osaka, before moving on to continue the set in Tokyo, and finishing the exhibition in Sapporo before returning to the states. Capuano has been mentioned as being an option for the Yankees to bring back, but he can negotiate with any team he chooses once he files for free agency.
