Yankees Keep Two Minor Leaguers, Lose Another

The Yankees kept two minor leaguers who were set to be free agents, but lost another one to Minor League free agency according to the transaction page on Baseball America.
The Yankees re-signed right-handed reliever Diego Moreno for 2015. Moreno, between Double-A and Triple-A went 3-3 with a 4.06 ERA. In 38 games, he struck out 55 in 57.1 innings and gave up 66 hits and had a WHIP of 1.45. Moreno was acquired in the deal that sent A.J. Burnett to the Pirates.

The Yankees also kept catcher Francisco Arcia around. The 24-year-old catcher, between Double-A and Triple-A, hit .276/.311/.347 with a home run and 25 RBI in 2014. He caught, played first, and even played some outfield to help his versatility.
The Yankees lost Josh Outman, who they had recently out-righted off of their 40-man roster. Outman didn’t give up a run in the 3.2 innings he pitched for the Yankees after being acquired on August 28th.
Look for Outman to be in a team’s camp come Spring Training 2015.
