Yankees Activate Tanaka, DFA Chaz Roe Prior To Sunday’s Game

For those of you that have been waiting patiently, hoping to once again see the New York Yankees’ rookie ace, Masahiro Tanaka, your patience has been rewarded. After a suffering a small tear in his UCL, according to Bryan Hoch, the team has officially activated Tanaka from the 60-day disabled list. Tanaka will start today’s series finale in the Bronx versus the Toronto Blue Jays.
Tanaka in just under 130 innings pitched in his first season in the Show, he has a 12-4 record, with an ERA of 2.51 and 135 Ks. At the time of his injury, he was among the league leaders in all three categories, and has firmly replaced C.C. Sabathia as the ace of this staff.

In a corresponding move, the Yankees have designated reliever Chaz Roe for assignment. In a pair of innings pitched for the Bombers, Roe has an ERA of 9.00, and has allowed three runs, on three hits, and has walked three.
