A win is a win is win, especially at this point with the Yankees needing whatever win they can to try and keep their slim playoff hopes alive. The Yankees earned a walk-off 3-2 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Shane Greene and R.A. Dickey went scoreless until the fifth inning. With two out, Chase Headley and Stephen Drew followed up with an RBI double to right.

Derek Jeter hadn’t hit a homer at Yankee Stadium all year. In his last homestand, he fixed that by blasting his fourth homer of the season to left to make it 2-0.

Greene and Dellin Betances kept it scoreless through seven. Shawn Kelley came in in the eighth. With two out, Jose Reyes singled and then Jose Bautista hit his 33rd homer of the year to left to tie the game.

Aaron Sanchez came in for the bottom of the ninth. Chris Young led off with a walk and Antoan Richardson pinch-ran for him. Richardson stole second and Brett Gardner bunted him over to third. Headley then hit one to first that Adam Lind let go underneath his legs. Richardson scored to end the game.

Mark Buehrle will face Hiroki Kuroda at 7:05 in game two of the series tomorrow.
