Recap: Yankees Swept In Double Header
A day after celebrating their best win of the season, the Yankees started off the day against the Orioles with their worst loss, coming up on the short end of an Orioles’ walk-off in the eleventh inning. But the Yankees still had a chance to try and salvage some of the day, with the second game of a doubleheader coming up that night.
Unfortunately, it didn’t get any better for the Yankees. Rookie Bryan Mitchell, making his first career start for the Yankees, was solid, going five innings, and allowing two runs, on six hits. The two runs he allowed came on an RBI double by Ryan Flaherty, and an RBI triple by Alejandro De Aza.

Once again, the Yankee offense could not get anything going, as they were shut out, only picking up four hits.
The Orioles would tack on a few more runs late, and ended up defeating the punch-less Yankees, by a final score of 5-0.
With the two losses, the Yankees fall to 5.5 games back in the Wild Card race, with 17 games remaining. It’s not looking good at all for the Bombers.
