TRIPLE A

Scranton/Wilkes-Barres RailRiders (59-66) lost to the Louisville Bats (62-64) 8-5.

Zach Nuding got rocked on Thursday night. The base paths were a revolving door as Nuding allowed ten hits and three walks in his five innings pitched. The five run fourth proved to be all the Louisville would need as SWB’s rally came to little to late. Nuding, who allowed six of the Bats eight runs, falls to 3-5 on the season.

The Rail Riders bats did not quite on the night. Trailing 6-2 after five innings, they kept trying to get a rally going and falling just short. They racked up eight hits on the night. First baseman Corbin Joseph led the way with two hits on the evening. The RailRiders one through six hitters all registered one hit a piece. All Star second baseman Jose Pirela smacked his 19th double of the season, scoring two runs and driving in one. Rob Refsnyder received a rare night off. He has his SWB average back to .300 on the season after batting .300 over his last ten games.

Bryan Mitchell returns to the mound Friday night for SWB. Game time is 7:05 PM.
