The Yankees begin a 3-game series against the Blue Jays on Friday night in the Bronx. The Yankees have won 6 of their last 7, including winning 3 of 4 against the Rangers. Hiroki Kuroda (6-6, 3.88 ERA) is the starting pitcher for the Yankees, as he looks to remain hot against a team that he is 3-0 against at home. Mark Buehrle (10-6, 2.86 ERA) will face off against a Yankee squad that he historically has not done well against (1-11, 5.81 ERA in 18 GS).

The Blue Jays are coming off their third win a row in a series against the Boston Red Sox. Kuroda looks to continue his solid pitching that does not show in his 6-6 record, due to a lack of run support while Buehrle looks to get back to the kind of pitching that got him to the All-Star Game 10 days ago.

Game Notes:

Mark Buehrle has not won a game since June 1st against the Royals. He has cooled off considerably since that game when he became the first pitcher to reach 10 wins.

–The Yankees have won 6 out of 9 games in the season series between the Blue Jays.

Brett Gardner and Jacboy Ellsbury have been hot against Toronto this year. Both are hitting over .380

Melky Cabrera returns to New York once again. He’s hitting the ball well this year, posting a .307 BA.
