The Yankees are looking to salvage the final game of this four game series, as they face off against the Texas Rangers at 1:05 PM.
Brandon McCarthy will get the start for the Yankees, as he is coming off of a phenomenal start in his last outing against the Reds. He allowed just one run on six hits, and went a solid six innings in a 7-1 victory. The Yankees are looking for distance from McCarthy today, as the bullpen can use all the rest that they can get.
Colby Lewis is going to start on the mound for the Rangers. Lewis somewhat struggled in his last start against the Blue Jays, as he had to grind through five innings of work and surrendered eight hits and three walks. Working up his pitch count early in the game seems to be the key for opponents, and the Yankees hope to do just that.
Lewis has some history with the Yankees. He faced them twice in the 2011 postseason and has a 2-0 record with a 1.98 ERA.
Adrian Beltre hits well off of McCarthy, as he is 14-for-33 in his career, and has two home runs and 10 RBI.
