Mark Teixeira Out Of Lineup For A Few Days

Mark Teixiera will not be penciled into the lineup for the next few days, as he is dealing with a mild lateral strain on his lower left side.

Lucky for the Yankees, they think he will only be out for three or four days. The most important thing is that he will most likely avoid the disabled list.

Not having Teixeira’s bat in the line up is always a loss, as they could really use his power. In the 76 games he has played in this season, Teixeira has clubbed 17 home runs and knocked in 48 RBI.

To fill in the missing void at first base, Kelly Johnson will get the start in this upcoming series against the Rangers. Zelous Wheeler will take over at third base.

The Yankees are hoping to add Teixeira back in the lineup at the end of the week.
