The Yankees are looking to continue their winning ways, as they will begin the second game of the four game set at 1:05 PM.

Brandon McCarthy will go for his second start with the Yankees. In his last start against the Indians, McCarthy made an impression and pitched a great game. He gave up just one run in 6 2/3 innings, but the bullpen lost the game for him. McCarthy is looking to get his first win as a Yankee this afternoon.

Alfredo Simon will start on the mound for the Reds. He is coming off a good start too, as he went 6 2/3 innings and gave up one run on four hits. Simon also has been putting up some good numbers in June, as he has an impressive 1.93 ERA in the month of July.

GAME NOTES:

Mark Teixeira and Jacoby Ellsbury both hit very well off of Simon. Teixeira is 6-for-11 in his career against him, including a home run and three RBI. Ellsbury is 4-for-6 with a triple and a double.

Reds designated hitters are putting up awful numbers in the designated hitter spot, as they are 0-for-10 this season.
