Not only does today mark the start of the second half for the Yankees, but there is also something huge on the back of their minds today too. They are going to find out the news on CC Sabathia, and whether he will be able to continue his career.

Sabathia is scheduled to see Dr. Neal ElAttrache sometime today, as this appointment could either go two ways. He can be told that he will be sent to rehab, and work on his right knee there. Or, he will have to undergo microfracture surgery, which could put his career in jeopardy.

It has been a while since Sabathia has made a start in the major leagues, as he last took the mound on May 10th. He tried to come back a few weeks ago, but more inflammation was found in his knee after his second rehab start in Trenton.

This could either be a happy day in Yankeeland, or a very, very disappointing one.
