Trenton Thunder pitcher Bryan Mitchell received some great news, as he is being promoted to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Mitchell has pitched three innings for the RailRiders this season, and has posted a 1-0 record with 0.00 ERA. With Trenton this year, he has a 2-5 record and 4.84 ERA in fourteen games. Looks like the right call was made in sending Mitchell back to Triple-A.

He also tried to make a slight peak in the major leagues back in April to replace the injured Ivan Nova. Just his luck, he hurt his arm warming up for his debut, and never had the chance to make a start since then. For now, Mitchell will not be called up by the Yankees unless it is an emergency.

Other key minor league news includes Taylor Garrison heading back down to Tampa to join the Tampa Yankees. After how well he performed in the first half of the season, Rob Segedin may have an opportunity to be promoted to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre as well.
