Roster Update: Yankees Designate Matt Daley For Assignment

According to Matt Polishuk of, the New York Yankees have designated relief pitcher Matt Daley for assignment. Daley had just been recalled from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre yesterday, and this is the second time during this season that the Yankees have made this exact move.

While Daley has been impressive at Triple-A with a 3.38 ERA on the season, his luck has not been nearly as good at the big league level, posting a 4.85 ERA in 13 innings of work for the Bronx Bombers. The team has yet to announce a corresponding move for the DFA of Daley.
