Derek Jeter’s No. 2 Leads MLB In Jersey Sales


Derek Jeter has always been number 2. But when it comes to jersey sales, the league announced on their website Thursday, he’s number one.

That’s right. In his 20th and final season in MLB, Derek Jeter’s number 2 jersey is indeed, the most popular among fans.

Behind the Captain in sales on the Top 20 list are San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw, Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz and fellow Red Sox Dustin Pedroia.

The Dodgers lead all teams with three players on the list, Kershaw, (third) Yasiel Puig, (ninth) and Hyun-Jin Ryu (18th).

First-timers on the list include Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman (12th), Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka (14th) and Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo (15th).
